Warranty Claims
I. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part received by the purchaser. Detroit Axle will replace any of the above parts should that part be deemed defective by Detroit Axle. This express warranty covers only the above mentioned items, their internal parts, seals, O-rings, and gaskets, for the related warranty period. Items not specifically listed above are not covered by this warranty. Subject to limitations contained herein, Detroit Axle at its option, shall repair or replace the auto part within the warranty term subject to Detroit Axle approval, without charge to the purchaser. When the order is a kit, warranty will cover only one part of the entire kit.
II. Your dated invoice is your warranty certificate and establishes your eligibility for said warranty. You must return the original invoice with your warranty claim. The serial number of the part returned MUST match the serial number stated on the invoice for any warranty claim to be honored.
III. Shipping Fee
- This warranty does not cover shipping costs. Purchaser is responsible for paying all shipping costs including, without limitation, shipping the defective part to Detroit Axle and Detroit Axle’s shipping cost for any replacement part. Detroit Axle, at our option, will replace or repair the warrantied part free of charge, and then return the replacement part using the shipping label paid by the purchaser.
IV. Deposit
- For any new purchase of a rack and pinion product at a retail cost over $300 or any transmission product, to activate the warranty service, the purchaser shall pay $150 as a core deposit. This core deposit will be returned to the purchaser upon receipt of the core.
- For any rack and pinion product, in warranty process, the purchaser will be charged 75% of the purchase cost as a deposit. The deposit will be returned to the purchaser upon receipt of the alleged defective part minus shipping Fee. The above mentioned warranty will not include any additional part (EX: Outer Tie Rods).
- For any transmission parts, in warranty process, the purchaser will be charged 100% of the purchase cost as a deposit. The deposit will be returned to the purchaser upon receipt of the alleged defective part.
V. This warranty is limited to one replacement part and is non-transferable under any circumstances. The purchaser named on the invoice for the part will be the only party to which this warranty applies. Any attempt to file a claim under this warranty by anyone other than the original purchaser of the product will void the warranty.
