What is a tie rod? The tie rod is connected to the gearbox or rack and pinion and transmits force to the steering knuckle. This allows the wheels to turn left or right when you turn the steering wheel. Common sign of a bad tie rod is the vehicle will pull to one side during driving, uneven tire ware, vibration in steering and erratic feel to steering.
When replacing Inner Tie Rod Ends; it is important to change the Outer Tie Rods also.
