RACK AND PINION

If your vehicle has become difficult to steer or makes a grinding or knocking sound when you turn, it may be time to replace your rack and pinion. Each Detroit Axle rack and pinion is remanufactured using new parts and an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) rack, then thoroughly tested to guarantee exceptional steering performance. Our process includes:

Air leak testing
Hydraulic pressure testing to ensure internal bypass for high and low pressures
Road simulation testing
Installation of new inner tie rods
Installation of new O-rings, oil seals, and lip seals to help prevent leaks
Addition of new Teflon rings on rack donut spool valve for restored internal sealing
Rack surfacing to original equipment (OE) specifications for leak prevention between chambers and extended part life

LIFETIME WARRANTY – RACK AND PINION PARTS
Each Detroit Axle rack and pinion is backed by a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under its intended use. If a rack and pinion fails for intended use due to manufacturing defects, we will replace the part (excluding shipping charges) in exchange for the core unit.
